Resort 2016 Collections

Fashion has no rest. London Collections Men has just started on Friday but  even past weeks have been intense since Resort collections are no more the neglet sisters of Fashion Weeks and always more frequently designers surprise their audience with unusual locations. Even though lately I am spending all the time working I always keep some time to watch the latest shows, a part from the brand I work for,  and catch up with the latest trends. Therefore I tried to sum up some of the my favourite looks in the following collages. I especially appreciated the geometric shapes and the study of materials at Fendi, the nerd-y romanticism and retro vibe at Gucci, the polished workwear at Ports 1961, the incredibly chic asymmetric numbers at Victoria Beckham, the ballerina inspired dresses at Rochas. Il mondo della moda non si ferma mai. Venerdì è appena iniziato il London Collections Men ma anche le passate settimane sono state piuttosto intense con le collezioni della stagione Resort che ormai non è più la sorella negletta delle Fashion Week …

Come and See Milan | Fondazione Prada

Today I will start a new series of posts that combine photography, travel and architecture. The idea came since I moved to Milan last October and I didn’t know the city nor I had enough suggestions about it. Now, a few months later I collected some recommendations about places, museums, restaurants or shops. In this way I will both share with you what I know and it also gives me the chance to go out and explore the city more. A new place to go in Milan is the permanent venue of the Fondazione Prada inaugurated in the beginning of May. The location takes place in a distillery dating back to the 1910’s. The project, that was committed to the OMA studio, led by Rem Koolhaas, is characterized by a “repertoire of spatial typologies in which art can be exhibited and shared with the public” and where new and old buildings coexist perfectly. The various buildings host the permanent exhibitions of Thomas Demand and of Robert Gober and Louise Bourgeois and many other temporary exhibitions. …

Mini Bags Euphoria

When it comes to spring bags, size does really matter. During the winter I alternate between large comfy bags  and sleek crossbodies, but this doesn’t happen with the hot weather. It seems to me as logical consequence that when I start to take off layer after layer the warm clothing, I need also to reduce the size of my bags. No more clumsy shopping bags – even though I do not particularly like them all year long- but tiny chic shoulder bags. Besides, to turn those mini bags into a statement they have to be colorful. And, even if I have recently started to fight my inner struggle to wear just white, black and denim and to dare wearing bright colours and prints – yeah, normcore lead me to the right opposite direction – then everyone else can do it. Since at the moment I just own several black or leather shoulder bags I unfortunately am still looking for my perfect colorful mini bag that isn’t worth like unicorn puppies. I collected a few moodboards on some beautiful unaffordable it bags that I am craving right …

#NYFW Fall 2015 Recap

Once again another fashion week season has come. Editors and fashion bloggers have started to show up their most eccentric outfits, the fashion capitals are congested by cars and photographers and celebrities attend endless parties. Even though

About Glasses

When people talk about fashion and accessories they usually forget about some important items. One of them are glasses and, no matter if they are shades or optical ones, they can change your face features effortlessly. Even if on a daily basis I wear contact lenses for practicality, I always bring my glasses along with me so I can wear then through the day. I have a round face and gentle features and for this reason glasses suit me well, especially big and bold frames. But, there is a sad side on this story: designer eyewear is usually quite expensive so, if you are addicted to buying a several range of products, you can’t afford to change them as you would do for other accessories. Thence when the American brand Warby Parker contacted me talking about their new Spring Collection I jumped on the boat and caught the opportunity to talk about this brand created to give an alternative to high-priced eyewear but still maintaining a designer look. Despite its classical appearance, the eight new …

Back to Basics – Fashion Haul

As you may have noticed from my last post I have done a bit of shopping in the past weeks and it didn’t stop with beauty and make-up. When I go shopping I am usually very instinctive and I end up buying eccentric items forgetting about the basics therefore I took advantage of the sales for buying basic clothes. Firstly, I decided to do some online shopping on Asos because I didn’t find anything interesting on physics shops. I read on internet people praising about Ridley High Waist Ultra Skinny Jeans so I bought a pair of black ones in Petite. I am a quite short girl so it’s difficult for me to find jeans or pants that fit me good without shortening them and the Petite lines that some brands as Topshop or Asos do are life saviour. Also, I chose Kimmi Shrunken Boyfriend Jeans in mid wash vintage and a Soft Casual Shirt in blue. The two jeans have a completely different fit but I love both: Ridley jeans wrap my legs perfectly …

Put a (tiny) ring on it

I do love statement rings and necklaces but on a daily basis I wear a lot of sober accessories, that kind you never get tired of. In the past two years starting from fashion bloggers everyone has been wearing tiny jewelry and a lot of brands came out with these types of products. However according to my experience it’s hard to find  cute fine jewelry that aren’t quite expensive so I thought to share some affordable brands to look for. For what concerns watches, mine is from Casio which has a dark-brown leather watchband and  tiny golden case and it’s a smaller and cheaper alternative to the Daniel Wellington watches, that I personally adore. First of all, I discovered Aristocrazy, a spanish brand who has both economic and expensive items -my necklace is from Aristocrazy –  but the real revelation happened when I found out about & Other Stories. All the earrings, rings and bracelet in photos come from the Swedish brand and it has a large selection that you won’t be disappointed. Do you know any …

How to deal with an everyday early awake

If you follow this blog you may have noticed that I haven’t updated it recently, the reason is because in the last month I got graduated, I moved to another city – for your own interest now I live in Milan- and I have started working. In the past year I didn’t have a lot of university classes so I was unprepared to start waking up early in the morning everyday and still looking socially acceptable. Plus, my job has to do with fashion so I am constantly surrounded by people that pay attention on their appearance and  had to learn some quick tips that can be useful to don’t look washed out every morning – warning, I am still not able to be polished and chic like Olivia Palermo but I am trying guys. 1. Always apply a foundation, but opt for products with a sheer and luminous finish instead of high coverage and extremely matte ones. After that go and conceal all the redness and imperfections and your face will appear fresher and younger than using a full coverage concealer. 2. Take with …

You Can Leave Your Hat On

If you usually stroll on Internet you may have noticed that the world has been affected by a fedora mania. There is always a type of hat on trend: we had bowler hats then beanies but I definitely prefer the most recent one because of the rock vibe a fedora hat can give to every outfit. I have seen lots of celebrities, bloggers or singers males and females wearing fedoras according to their styles and no matter if you want to wear it on the beach or during a rainy day because there will be a type that matches your needs. I put my hands on two black fedoras in the past months and I’ve been searching for a white version but I didn’t find one I liked enough that wasn’t extremely expensive. Don’t worry my research won’t stop until I will find it – I am scary, I know. If you want to buy a fedora but you can’t do a splurge with a Borsalino then Asos, Topshop,  Urban Outfitters and H&M have great substitutes. Oh, …

Zara haul

In the past two months I’ve had some special events and -of course- I needed new clothes. Also I have been loving the last Zara collection so it happened that I made a big splurge in there. 1. Oversized denim vest – 39.95 EUR | I own slighlty oversized shirts and blazers but they are usually quite minimalist. Following the new grunge wave, I decided to go for this extremely oversized vest – especially for my tiny figure – and  every time like it makes me feel like I am living in the 90’s. 2. T-shirt with pocket – 19.95 EUR | Who doesn’t need a good white T-shirt? I am quite demanding when it comes to T-shirts because I feel like they have to be soft on the skin, not too stiff or see-through and this one has all the requirements. 3. Wide trousers with belt – 59.95 EUR | I bought these pants for a job interview and I paired them with a white silky top. I am not as tall as the model and, despite it’s a con most of the times, in this …
