TRENDS | Frayed Denim

ENGLISH | ITALIANO Looking for the perfect pair of jeans is a common need for every girl who loves fashion and the choice of the right pair of jeans  is obviously based on the latest trend instead of “wearing what fits me better”.Everyone knows that 90’s style is having a huge come back and skinny jeans have been overtaken by high waist jeans with straight legs. The newest obsession on this matter was inspired by frayed and shredded vintage jeans and several brands, such as Re/Done and Vetements, took old Levi’s and reworked them even changing their fitting.  Zara & co. has started copying right away this trend but you can forget the same attention for details and the reutilization policy used by luxury brands. Sometimes the outcome is quite pleasing as the Bershka number shown in the photos below that I bought recently. I paired these jeans with a Zara blouse and shoes by Mango, ispired to the well-known and editors favourite shoes by Maryam Nassir Zadeh, to create an outfit with vaguely boho. What do you think about this trend? Do you like it or you can’t stand …

Spring Summer 2016Trends | New Romantics

EN|IT The parade of new romantics. Some of them just respect the usual parameters. There are a few that reinterpret the romantic allure mixing up with other influences. And there are some more that jokes with romanticism adding tons of levels on it but still maintaining that aura. ERDEM | The looks undeniably presented Victorian references, even more after hearing the concept behind the collection.  Erdem Morialoglu approach to design is having a storyline in mind in order to match the clothes to the women of his story. In this case the plot was about prairie madness. The quality of garments is so good that the comparison with Valentino has been brought on more than once. What I crave: even though those dresses are not street-style material, I would love to wear this dress for a special event. GUCCI | In less than a year Gucci has been completely transformed as a brand. The first women’s fashion show designed by Alessandro Michele was just the beginning of his idea of fashion. Models walked with clothes …

About Glasses

When people talk about fashion and accessories they usually forget about some important items. One of them are glasses and, no matter if they are shades or optical ones, they can change your face features effortlessly. Even if on a daily basis I wear contact lenses for practicality, I always bring my glasses along with me so I can wear then through the day. I have a round face and gentle features and for this reason glasses suit me well, especially big and bold frames. But, there is a sad side on this story: designer eyewear is usually quite expensive so, if you are addicted to buying a several range of products, you can’t afford to change them as you would do for other accessories. Thence when the American brand Warby Parker contacted me talking about their new Spring Collection I jumped on the boat and caught the opportunity to talk about this brand created to give an alternative to high-priced eyewear but still maintaining a designer look. Despite its classical appearance, the eight new …

THE ITEM | NARS Audacious Lipstick

NARS lipsticks are always on point. In fact, I love every lip products I’ve tried from this brand – above all the Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella – so when everyone in the beauty sphere started talking or writing about the Audacious Lipstick range I could not help buying it.  I wanted to try Ingrid because I saw it on a lot of youtube videos but unfortunately we don’t have all the original 40 shades here in Italy. In the end, I choose the Jeanne shade which is a semi-matte cherry red with a hint of brown. It has a long lasting formula and gives a high coverage without over drying the lips. I love the bold lips trend and I wear this with a natural eye make-up and a lot of mascara. Now I am torn whether to buy an orangey red shade from the Semi Matte line or not. I let you guess what my final decision will be. Have you tried yet this new NARS line? If yes, what did you think about it and what colour would you recommend?

How to deal with an everyday early awake

If you follow this blog you may have noticed that I haven’t updated it recently, the reason is because in the last month I got graduated, I moved to another city – for your own interest now I live in Milan- and I have started working. In the past year I didn’t have a lot of university classes so I was unprepared to start waking up early in the morning everyday and still looking socially acceptable. Plus, my job has to do with fashion so I am constantly surrounded by people that pay attention on their appearance and  had to learn some quick tips that can be useful to don’t look washed out every morning – warning, I am still not able to be polished and chic like Olivia Palermo but I am trying guys. 1. Always apply a foundation, but opt for products with a sheer and luminous finish instead of high coverage and extremely matte ones. After that go and conceal all the redness and imperfections and your face will appear fresher and younger than using a full coverage concealer. 2. Take with …

My Favourite Summer Nail Polishes

Earlier this week I went back to my parent’s house for university’s summer break so I had to pack all my stuff including my nail polishes. As you can see I went a little bit crazy while packing so I picked up only eight nail polishes and they are basically all the shades I tend to use lately. Isn’t that an excuse good enough for a nail polishes’ summer selection? Essie Nail Lacquer in Lacquered up and Capri | Essie  has been my favourite nail polishes brand so far. These two shades, in particular, are bright orange-y toned and they don’t contain any shimmer in them, they dry very quick and last five day without chipping. Formula X Nail Color in Outrageous and Unmistakable | I recently discovered this brand thanks to one of my favourite youtubers, Estée on essiebutton. These are the only two shades I own but they are both incredible. They dry instantly and you don’t need to use a top coat. Dior Diorlisse in 500 Pink Petal and Vernis in 483 Pink Kimono | These …

THE ITEM | Dolce & Gabbana Shaping Eyebrow Pencil

Lately there’s an hype/excitement over brows and I am full on it. I could go out with no foundation, concealer – I am sorry for you all – or lipstick but I can’t renounce to fix my eyebrows because it instantly gives a fresher look to my puffy face. I have always used the MAC Eyebrows Pencil in Lingering and the Kiko Eyebrow Expert in 01 but I wasn’t completely pleased, therefore I continued to look around for something new to try. It seems to me that every blogger or youtuber own the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil and I was fascinated by its triangular shape. Of course, they don’t sell Hourglass in Italy so I repeatedly searched for another brand who produced a similar pencil and then I found out the Dolce & Gabbana Shaping Eyebrow Pencil. I didn’t find a lot of reviews about it so I went to the nearest counter, I tried it on and Preach it!. I ruminated about the possibility to purchase that product or not because it’s extremely high-priced but then I gave up. The triangular shape makes the application …
