Uptempo

ENGLISH | ITALIAN Hurry up / Almost there / I am late again / As if it isn’t already enough, even schoolchildren on my tram / People shouls stop yelling at the phone in the morning / I need a weak black coffee / If my tram would go faster I may be in time to pass by the cafè before work / I don’t get the poinf of  all these traffic lights / One more stop and I’ll get off / Once again my coffee tastes weird / The elevator seems stuck / Well, I’ll take the stairs / It’s still 9:00 in the morning and a typical worker in Milan thinks one of the sentences above if not every of them at the same time. If the essence of Milan could be translated into music it wiuld be an uptempo: fast, rhythmic and neat. The sound of boots and Oxford style shoes on the ground is steady and relentless. If someone stops there are two persons ready to overtake it. The city takes you down into its …

Come and See Milan | Villa Necchi Campiglio

If you think Milan is just shopping and piazza del Duomo, you are completely wrong! There are a lot of unknown places that make this city so complex. Villa Necchi Campiglio is part of the Milan’s Case Museo, built between 1932 and 1935 following the project of the architect Piero Portaluppi for the Necchi sisters, Nedda and Gigina, and Angelo Campiglio, Gigina’s husband. Necchi’s family were part of the Lombard middle class and they thought that this wooded area, quiet and near to the city centre, was perfecttobuilta modern villa. This villa is modern both for the architectural style,a mix of rationalism and art decò, and for the systems as the elevator and the heated swimming pool. Later, after World War II, the home furnishings change dramatically towards XVII century influence with the help of the architect Tommaso Buzzi.

Stills | London

Despite my lack of blog posts, I am still alive guys. I spent these months between a hectic schedule at work and some time doing absolutely nothing with my family. Beside that, I managed to plan a sort of vacation in London. I attended a short course at Central Saint Martins and took the opportunity to visit the city once again. Unfortunately  I got through a few unlucky events  and I lost most of my photos aside from these stills. I promise I will update more frequently and regularly the blog, in fact there may be something ready yet!

Resort 2016 Collections

Fashion has no rest. London Collections Men has just started on Friday but  even past weeks have been intense since Resort collections are no more the neglet sisters of Fashion Weeks and always more frequently designers surprise their audience with unusual locations. Even though lately I am spending all the time working I always keep some time to watch the latest shows, a part from the brand I work for,  and catch up with the latest trends. Therefore I tried to sum up some of the my favourite looks in the following collages. I especially appreciated the geometric shapes and the study of materials at Fendi, the nerd-y romanticism and retro vibe at Gucci, the polished workwear at Ports 1961, the incredibly chic asymmetric numbers at Victoria Beckham, the ballerina inspired dresses at Rochas.

Come and See Milan | Fondazione Prada

Today I will start a new series of posts that combine photography, travel and architecture. The idea came since I moved to Milan last October and I didn’t know the city nor I had enough suggestions about it. Now, a few months later I collected some recommendations about places, museums, restaurants or shops. In this way I will both share with you what I know and it also gives me the chance to go out and explore the city more. A new place to go in Milan is the permanent venue of the Fondazione Prada inaugurated in the beginning of May. The location takes place in a distillery dating back to the 1910’s. The project, that was committed to the OMA studio, led by Rem Koolhaas, is characterized by a “repertoire of spatial typologies in which art can be exhibited and shared with the public” and where new and old buildings coexist perfectly. The various buildings host the permanent exhibitions of Thomas Demand and of Robert Gober and Louise Bourgeois and many other temporary exhibitions. …

On Replay | James Bay – Best Fake Smile

James Bay is a young British songwriter whose debut album, Chaos and The Calm, topped UK and USA charts.  Maybe you haven’t heard his name yet but I am pretty sure you will recognize his massive hit, Hold Back The River. He is renowned for his deep and thoughtful ballads but this time I propose a song who brings a more light-hearted side of him. “No you don’t have to wear your best fake smile Don’t have to stand there and burn inside Oh oh oh if you don’t like it.”

THE ITEM | Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipsticks

If  I have to choose just a type of lipsticks, I will surely go for the sheer ones. For a night out or a special event I dare to wear a bold lip but the 90% of time I am late and I just run out of the door and put on the lipstick while walking. Plus, I am fascinated by those 60’s icons like Jane Birkin or Brigitte Bardot with their luscious lips with just a hint of colour. Now, even though I do not have those full lips I am always looking for the perfect lipstick to recreate that effect. Because of this reason I accidentally started putting on my Chanel Rouge Coco Shine collection through the years and I would have bought even more shades if these lipsticks weren’t so pricey.

Channeling My Inner Cara

Beauty, just as fashion, runs in circles. Trends come quick in succession and often make-up takes inspiration from runway looks. Nowadays the focus is all on eyebrows and a few years ago everything started from Cara Delevingne. After several years when over plucking seemed the right thing to do -with permanent consequences may I add – the fever for the British model created an overturn. Starting from high fashion editorials, big wild brows has become more and more popular and the latest normcore wave has seen all over the street style snaps natural and glowy face, minimal make-up and statement brows. A partire dai …

#NYFW Fall 2015 Recap

Once again another fashion week season has come. Editors and fashion bloggers have started to show up their most eccentric outfits, the fashion capitals are congested by cars and photographers and celebrities attend endless parties. Even though

About Glasses

When people talk about fashion and accessories they usually forget about some important items. One of them are glasses and, no matter if they are shades or optical ones, they can change your face features effortlessly. Even if on a daily basis I wear contact lenses for practicality, I always bring my glasses along with me so I can wear then through the day. I have a round face and gentle features and for this reason glasses suit me well, especially big and bold frames. But, there is a sad side on this story: designer eyewear is usually quite expensive so, if you are addicted to buying a several range of products, you can’t afford to change them as you would do for other accessories. Thence when the American brand Warby Parker contacted me talking about their new Spring Collection I jumped on the boat and caught the opportunity to talk about this brand created to give an alternative to high-priced eyewear but still maintaining a designer look. Despite its classical appearance, the eight new …
