The Strumbellas – Spirits

Spirits is the first single out of the third album of The Strumbellas, a six piece Canadian country/indie-rock band. The album named Hope comes after three years their previous work “We Still Move on Dance Floors”.   “Cause something inside has changed And maybe we don’t wanna stay the same”

The Lumineers – Ophelia

lmost four years after their successful debut album (2012), The Lumineers come back with Ophelia, a preview of their second work Cleopatra. The single presents a massive use of percussions and piano like their most famous hit “Ho Hey” and by now radios seem to love the new song as much as the old one. “When I was younger, should have known better I can’t feel no remorse, and you don’t feel nothing back”   If you want to hear more music suggestions, go and check out all MUSIC posts on THE-A-BOOK.

Stay Tuned | Halsey

Halsey, real name Ashley Frangipane, is a young American songwriter whom started her career uploading cover songs on Youtube and SoundCloud. After her song “Ghost” was discovered by the Astralwerks record label she released her debut EP Room 93 on October 2014. After that she started touring as support of The Kooks and Imagine Dragons. Her first album Badlands  has just come out on Austust and the latest single is called New Americana. Probably all the teenagers out there has known her for a while – she is quite popular on Twitter – but I discovered her just a few days back. One of my favourite track is Colors, an electropop song clearly inspired by The 1975’s frontman and ex-boyfriend Matty Healy. Check it out and give me your feedback in the comments!

On Replay | James Bay – Best Fake Smile

James Bay is a young British songwriter whose debut album, Chaos and The Calm, topped UK and USA charts.  Maybe you haven’t heard his name yet but I am pretty sure you will recognize his massive hit, Hold Back The River. He is renowned for his deep and thoughtful ballads but this time I propose a song who brings a more light-hearted side of him. “No you don’t have to wear your best fake smile Don’t have to stand there and burn inside Oh oh oh if you don’t like it.”

Chet Faker – Talk is Cheap

Nicholas James Murphy, aka Chet Faker, is an australian electronic musician who became famous when his cover of Blackstreet’s “No Diggity” went  viral online. Then he released the EP Thinking in Textures on March 2012.   Two years later, Talk is Cheap was the first single released from his debut album “Built on Glass” and, despite it came out months ago, I’ve just discovered it and I thought to share this gem with you.  Also, I quite like the video of the song. Take a listen to the whole album, you won’t regret it.

Divine Fits _ Ain’t that the way

This American/Canadian band was formed in 2011 and is composed by the neophyte Alex Fischel and by Britt Daniel, Dan Boeckner, Sam Brown who already were part of other bands as New Bomb Turks, Spoon,Handsome Furs, Wolf Parade. If you enjoy indie rock as I do you will adore this song!

Paolo Nutini – Scream (Funk my life up)

After five years Paolo Nutini, the Scottish singer-songwriter of Italian descent, is back with the new album “Caustic Love” anticipated by this funk – see what I did here –  single. He released his debut album, “These Streets”, in 2006, which featured the hits New Shoes and Last Request. It was followed up with UK chart-topper “Sunny Side Up” in 2009, which won the Best Album category at the Ivor Novello Awards. Nutini, at his third album, has loyal fans – clearly i am one of those – who have not forgotten him despite his decision to stay out of the limelight in order to create new songs without pressure . Now I can’t wait to hear the whole album – out on April 15th – and listen his unique  voice live again.

George Ezra – Cassy O’

George Ezra  is a singer songwriter from Bristol, United Kingdom, and he is currently working on his debut studio album. He has been noted for his deep, mature sounding tone, and he regularly cites Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie as his musical influences.  I am very fond of folk and raspy voices so I recommend this boy.
