Back to Basics – Fashion Haul

As you may have noticed from my last post I have done a bit of shopping in the past weeks and it didn’t stop with beauty and make-up. When I go shopping I am usually very instinctive and I end up buying eccentric items forgetting about the basics therefore I took advantage of the sales for buying basic clothes. Firstly, I decided to do some online shopping on Asos because I didn’t find anything interesting on physics shops. I read on internet people praising about Ridley High Waist Ultra Skinny Jeans so I bought a pair of black ones in Petite. I am a quite short girl so it’s difficult for me to find jeans or pants that fit me good without shortening them and the Petite lines that some brands as Topshop or Asos do are life saviour. Also, I chose Kimmi Shrunken Boyfriend Jeans in mid wash vintage and a Soft Casual Shirt in blue. The two jeans have a completely different fit but I love both: Ridley jeans wrap my legs perfectly …

Put a (tiny) ring on it

I do love statement rings and necklaces but on a daily basis I wear a lot of sober accessories, that kind you never get tired of. In the past two years starting from fashion bloggers everyone has been wearing tiny jewelry and a lot of brands came out with these types of products. However according to my experience it’s hard to find  cute fine jewelry that aren’t quite expensive so I thought to share some affordable brands to look for. For what concerns watches, mine is from Casio which has a dark-brown leather watchband and  tiny golden case and it’s a smaller and cheaper alternative to the Daniel Wellington watches, that I personally adore. First of all, I discovered Aristocrazy, a spanish brand who has both economic and expensive items -my necklace is from Aristocrazy –  but the real revelation happened when I found out about & Other Stories. All the earrings, rings and bracelet in photos come from the Swedish brand and it has a large selection that you won’t be disappointed. Do you know any …

How to deal with an everyday early awake

If you follow this blog you may have noticed that I haven’t updated it recently, the reason is because in the last month I got graduated, I moved to another city – for your own interest now I live in Milan- and I have started working. In the past year I didn’t have a lot of university classes so I was unprepared to start waking up early in the morning everyday and still looking socially acceptable. Plus, my job has to do with fashion so I am constantly surrounded by people that pay attention on their appearance and  had to learn some quick tips that can be useful to don’t look washed out every morning – warning, I am still not able to be polished and chic like Olivia Palermo but I am trying guys. 1. Always apply a foundation, but opt for products with a sheer and luminous finish instead of high coverage and extremely matte ones. After that go and conceal all the redness and imperfections and your face will appear fresher and younger than using a full coverage concealer. 2. Take with …

You Can Leave Your Hat On

If you usually stroll on Internet you may have noticed that the world has been affected by a fedora mania. There is always a type of hat on trend: we had bowler hats then beanies but I definitely prefer the most recent one because of the rock vibe a fedora hat can give to every outfit. I have seen lots of celebrities, bloggers or singers males and females wearing fedoras according to their styles and no matter if you want to wear it on the beach or during a rainy day because there will be a type that matches your needs. I put my hands on two black fedoras in the past months and I’ve been searching for a white version but I didn’t find one I liked enough that wasn’t extremely expensive. Don’t worry my research won’t stop until I will find it – I am scary, I know. If you want to buy a fedora but you can’t do a splurge with a Borsalino then Asos, Topshop,  Urban Outfitters and H&M have great substitutes. Oh, …

Zara haul

In the past two months I’ve had some special events and -of course- I needed new clothes. Also I have been loving the last Zara collection so it happened that I made a big splurge in there. 1. Oversized denim vest – 39.95 EUR | I own slighlty oversized shirts and blazers but they are usually quite minimalist. Following the new grunge wave, I decided to go for this extremely oversized vest – especially for my tiny figure – and  every time like it makes me feel like I am living in the 90’s. 2. T-shirt with pocket – 19.95 EUR | Who doesn’t need a good white T-shirt? I am quite demanding when it comes to T-shirts because I feel like they have to be soft on the skin, not too stiff or see-through and this one has all the requirements. 3. Wide trousers with belt – 59.95 EUR | I bought these pants for a job interview and I paired them with a white silky top. I am not as tall as the model and, despite it’s a con most of the times, in this …

Moodboard #1 – A Touch of Red

Since I spent the past month strolling around China I had the opportunity to notice how Chinese girls dress. The fashionable girls are not afraid to put on rainbow colors, chunky boots or fluffy coats but basically most of females – they could be children, business women or elders – wear something red in her outfit. So, when I came back in Italy and I passed by an entire shop window of red Dolce & Gabbana’s, I decided to make a brief resume of some red inspirations from runways and commercials.

About black ankle boots

Yesterday, while I was walking home, a heel of my boots has broken. My boots, my ankle boots, my black ankle boots. One of my favourite black ankle boots. Then I realised I have way too many black ankle boots – flat, heeled, cut-out, preppy, edgy – and I have been wearing nothing but that type of shoes for the past few months. May I call that obsession? Maybe yeah, but they are my Linus’ blanket for the autumn-winter and they match perfectly with any outfit. Those are a few items I might wear: My broken friends will be repaired in a short time but there’s a major problem: the impending spring. What I am going to wear when will be too hot for my black ankle boots? The new trend is slip on sneakers: we will see if they will be able to win a place in my heart and to replace the black ankle boots.
